Ramadan is approaching. A time for reflection, togetherness and mutual respect. It is an important month for Muslims around the world, but also an opportunity to come together and build bridges between different cultures and religions.
Together with Black History Month Belgium, Sudanese Home Antwerp and the Sudanese Association Antwerp, De Roma invites you to a Sudanese iftar at AMOR.
We reflect on the meaning of Ramadan and an iftar in the context of the war, the extreme violence and the terrible humanitarian crisis unfolding in Sudan.
As March 8 is also International Women's Day, we will pay special attention to the women, whose rights are being violated in this conflict.
We call on you to show your support for (local) humanitarian initiatives that help the affected population in Sudan, and women in particular.
The solidarity that is central to Ramadan can be a source of inspiration for everyone – whether you are Muslim or not – to stand up for peace and justice in Sudan.
You are welcome to join us for this evening of reflection and connection, whether you are fasting yourself or simply want to experience the atmosphere of this month of fasting.
