With a blend of soul, jazz, R&B, hip hop and irresistible grooves, his name has been a key figure on the international music scene for several years. A musician, songwriter, performer, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Jordan Rakei juggles his many talents with rare ease. In 2016, he released his debut album, ‘Cloak’, inspired by the vibrant London jazz scene. Quickly spotted by the prestigious Ninja Tune label, he went on to release the outstanding ‘Wallflower’ (2017) and ‘Origin’ (2019) on the label.
Thanks to his musical sensitivity and intelligence, he has collaborated with artists such as FKJ, Richard Spaven, Tom Misch and Loyle Carner, whilst also earning prestigious nominations at the Grammy Awards and the Mercury Prize along the way. He then confirmed the full extent of his talent with ‘What We Call Life’ in 2021, followed by ‘The Loop’ in 2024, an album that opened the doors to an ever-wider audience. Today, he is embarking on a new chapter in his already impressive career.
On 30 October, Jordan Rakei will release ‘A Safe Place To Be Wild’, his seventh album and arguably the most personal of his career. Offering a first glimpse into this new chapter, ‘Enemies’ blends psych-soul with a ’70s vibe, organic warmth and a luminous groove, whilst showcasing a newfound self-confidence. It is this new sound that he will be presenting on stage at De Roma, not forgetting the tracks that have made him one of the most
