Eddie Keogh, Eoghan McGrath and Eoin Fitzgibbon – indeed, three Irishmen – meet during their engineering studies at the University of Limerick. In the week before their final exams, they release their first single Flowers-Fire (2022), marking the start of an adventure that will take them far beyond Ireland. Kingfishr, their band name is no coincidence: the kingfisher can be found along almost all Irish waterways. It usually stays in one place—until the moment comes to take flight.
In 2024, the band achieves an international breakthrough with Killeagh, a catchy ode to the pub crowd from the village where Fitzgibbon grew up. The track remains in the Irish Top 10 for 18 weeks and goes viral on TikTok.
