Should there still be poetry? You bet! On 22 January, we are proud to introduce Esohe Weyden to you as Antwerp's new city poet - a foretaste of Poetry Week 2025, but above all: an unforgettable party! 

Esohe will present her poetic plans to the city. Lisette Ma Neza and Myriem El-Kaddouri, the city poets of Brussels and Kortrijk, will be celebrating wholeheartedly. Host of the evening will be Bent Van Looy and Bert Lezy will provide live drawings and sounds. 

Of course, we will also wave off the five retiring Antwerp city poets. Lotte dodion, Ruth Lasters, Lies Van Gasse, Cleo Klapholz en Kibi Puati Nelen will present a nice selection from the projects they realised since January 2023. 

A warm, poetic look back, then, but above all a festive look ahead to the future of poetry in Antwerp. And of course: no party without some serious dancing after the fact!
