Cesar Quinn is the quartet led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Frederik Daelemans (Meskerem Mees, Tamino, Beirut). Their new music oscillates between the seemingly contradictory influences of Armand Hammer's alternative hip hop, Black Midi and space jazz. The prevailing atmosphere is hectic and urban, occasionally interrupted by moments of rest and warmth.
Singer Frederik alternates a powerful style with emotional outbursts. In 2021, Cesar Quinn released his debut album Opal, a blend of indie, psychedelic post-punk and modern jazz, drawing comparisons to King Krule and Radiohead. They were also one of the winners of Soundtrack that same year.
