Artur Fernandes, Filipe Cal, Filipe Ricardo and Francisco Miguel are all deeply intertwined with their instruments. With the sound of the diatonic accordion – a sound they approach with originality and explore with verve – this quartet captivates and surprises audiences across the globe.
Their impressionistic folk has deep roots in Portuguese folk music, tango nuevo, classical music and jazz. Live, this music is all the more powerful: minimalist, profound soundscapes full of unexpected twists and compelling melancholy, enhanced by the brilliantly crafted lighting design.
In 2012, Danças Ocultas enjoyed success on numerous Belgian stages with Alento, concerts that remain etched in many people’s memories and which also made a lasting impression at De Roma. In April 2025, their tenth album, Inspirar, was released, followed by a major European tour that will finally bring them back to our venue in Borgerhout in the spring of 2027.
Get ready for a masterful concert featuring music from the new album and highlights from their magnificent repertoire.
