De Roma breekt uit! Due to the installation of a new parquet floor, our venue will not reopen until Friday, September 26. Therefore, we are temporarily organising a series of surprising concerts and other activities on location in Troubleyn: Pastorijstraat 23, 2060 Antwerp.

Early 2022, Ellen Schoenaerts began working on an album with producer Stef Kamil Carlens and musicians Liesa Van Der Aa, Alban Sarens, Ephraim Cielen and Jonas Meersmans. A few months later, the unfortunate fate struck. Tom Pintens, good friend and father of her son, fell seriously ill and died a year later. By then, the album—which had taken on a rather bitter taste due to the events of the year it was recorded—was practically finished.

Unsure what to do with this album, filled with paradoxical memories of a paradoxical time, Ellen initially put it away in a closet for a year and a half. The album was then distributed song by song via a QR code, available only through a work of art by artist Anne-Mie Van Kerckhove. In July 2025, the QR code will be complete, and this event will be celebrated with the release of the album: Het einde van de paradox (The End of the Paradox).

The album—which also includes many purely instrumental pieces—is an immersive musical journey that takes you through the different colors and periods of human life. It is a record that, above all, you have to experience in live.
