Elmer is a rapper, producer and the alter ego of actress and director Merel Pauw. Elmer combines hip-hop with provocative rawness, disarming honesty and the colorful world of comics in an unabashed act that brings a long-awaited breath of fresh air to the Dutch hip-hop scene. 

She (or him, whichever you want) takes inspiration from Peaches, Mr Oizo and Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, and creates danceable electro funk and italo disco songs. Elmer tackles themes such as fear of commitment, self-hatred and the hypocrisy of leftists, always with humor, self-deprecation and filthy lyrics. Elmer wants to break away from the expectations of what a true hip-hop artist should sound and look like, thereby making the Dutch music scene more diverse.
