When the wonderful worlds of circus and drag embrace each other, something very special happens. It came about in the Netherlands when Germain Iconnee and Nick van der Heyden, formed by the same circus training and driven by the same passion for drag, founded their own company. With House of Circus, they bring together all the artistic disciplines they excel in: trapeze and balancing, clowning and drag, makeup and costume design. But versatile and creative as they are, they also employ theatre, dance and comedy to put a unique spin on all their artistic experiments.

House of Circus has already collaborated with the biggest circus festivals in the Netherlands, such as Circusstad, Lowlands and Circolo. We are therefore honoured that this unique circus company is bringing their latest show Carnivale Royale to De Roma. With this queer cabaret, they celebrate diversity and individuality and bring artists from all corners of the world together on one stage. Besides their regular performances, House of Circus also invites local talent at each new venue in order to keep the show exciting and relevant.
