Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit

With each new album, Jason Isbell exposes himself a little more. With the magnificent Weathervanes, he once again conquers the hearts of his audience. In 13 astonishing songs, he speaks of life's whimsical paths. The American singer-songwriter appeals to a wide range of emotions. Some songs are best listened alone, driving down a dark, deserted highway. Others you'd rather be singing at the top of your lungs with thousands of other people on a sunny meadow.
As on his previous appearance at De Roma in November 2022, Jason Isbell can once again count on the support of his formidable band The 400 Unit. Together, they move effortlessly from stadium anthems to intimate Americana, with deep, personal lyrics. The sound is aweome, but at the same time honest and sincere. Weathervanes' roots go back to pandemic isolation and Isbell's time as an actor in Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon. The singer-songwriter mostly wrote his songs between recordings, resulting in, among others, the wonderfully melancholy King of Oklahoma.
