Cat Power

20 Years The Greatest

In 2026, it will be twenty years since Cat Power's legendary album The Greatest was released. The American singer-songwriter is celebrating this with a worldwide tour in which she brings the album back to life live. Expect a wonderful evening with one of the greatest voices of her generation. An ode to twenty years of timeless music, soul and artistic freedom.

The Greatest, the seventh studio album by Chan Marshall aka Cat Power, was recorded at the iconic Ardent Studios in Memphis (Tennessee). Upon its release, the album immediately became a milestone. For the first time, the charismatic American created a record featuring only her own songs, imbued with an understated Southern soul and unparalleled self-confidence. The Greatest was praised worldwide and marked her greatest commercial success.

In honour of the twentieth anniversary, Cat Power will also release a brand new three-part EP in early January: Redux. It was recorded by Grammy Award-winning engineer and friend Stuart Sikes (Loretta Lynn, The White Stripes) at Church House Studios in Austin, Texas. The EP includes a brand new re-recording of James Brown's Try Me and an impressive rendition of Prince's Nothing Compares 2 U.
