Partir un jour
Partir un jour
Cécile is about to realise her dream: opening her own gourmet restaurant. Unexpectedly, she has to return to her native village. Far away from the hustle and bustle of Paris, she runs into her childhood sweetheart. Old memories resurface and her certainties begin to waver.
If the title reminds you of a French hit from the nineties, you're right: Amélie Bonnin adds a touch of nostalgia, mixing the story with popular songs that prolong the characters' thoughts and express what they find difficult to say. It makes Partir un jour a film that feels like a summer road trip. There is familiar company in the back seat and one hit after another blares from the car radio.
