Sam Bettens

Coming Home

  • i.c.w. Radio 2

Sam Bettens' eagerly awaited country-Americana album will soon be available in stores. He is celebrating this event with an Album Release Tour "Coming Home" across Belgium, to present his new music to the general public for the first time. Since the beginning of his career, Bettens has been praised for his musicality and enthusiasm. Only a true artist stands the test of time, and although Bettens already has a rich career behind him, this album exudes a youthful freshness, tinged with the maturity and unvarnished truth of an experienced songwriter.

Bettens grew up in Antwerp, not on an idyllic ranch in Texas listening to the latest Hank Williams album. And yet, somehow, he manages to tap into the authenticity of country music, seemingly without effort. With lyrics that flow like water and a voice that seems to have already been through a lot, this album makes you want to pack your bags for a road trip through the rural south of the United States. For the recordings in Nashville, the Mecca of country music, Bettens called on none other than Tom Bukovac, voted guitarist of the year four times by the Academy of Country Music.

Sam Bettens is still one half of K's Choice, the band with which he and his brother have been touring the world since he was nineteen. With international hits like Not an Addict and Believe, K's Choice rapidly established themselves at the top of the international alternative rock scene and have basically never left it. But even K's Choice had its Americana and melancholic singer-songwriter moments, and it's wonderful to see that side of Bettens in the spotlight now.
