Since their beginning in the late 1970s, The The has released six studio albums and several compilations. Born from Matt Johnson's brain in the basement of his parents' dark London pub, The The quickly grew from an experimental multimedia collective to one of the most beloved bands in their country.

Born from the post-punk landscape of the time, the band quickly built up a loyal fan base. They also conquered the rest of the world with their groundbreaking albums Soul Mining (1983) and Infected (1986). 

Despite their absence of almost two decades, The The managed to always remain relevant.  They proved this a few years ago with the release of The Inertia Variations, a gripping film that they released together with their biography: Long Shadows, High Hopes: The Life and Times of Matt Johnson & The The. After the reunion tour under the name Comeback Special Tour in 2018, Matt Johnson promises a look back at The The's impressive career during the Ensouled World Tour 2024, with new songs and their beloved classics.
