Over the past five decades, the Nits have made an indelible contribution to European pop culture with their unique sound and approach. Since its formation in 1974, the Dutch band consisting of singer and lyricist Henk Hofstede, drummer/percussionist Rob Kloet and keyboardist Robert Jan Stips has released more than thirty albums and recorded several hits, including the timeless In The Dutch Mountains, J.O.S. Days, Adieu Sweet Bahnhof and Nescio.
Yet the Nits are not resting on their laurels. It is precisely because they continue to challenge themselves that they are still considered one of the most creative and innovative pop bands in Europe. Each album tells a new story. No other band succeeds as well as the Nits in fusing rock, pop and jazz, combined with a touch of experimental music, to create such a homogeneous and accessible sound. After their concert tour in honour of their 50th anniversary in 2024, they will finally be back on stage.
