Admiral Freebee

Admiral Freebee continues the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of his legendary unnamed debut album at De Roma. Rags 'n Run, Ever Present, Einstein Brain and Mediterranean Sea: all these titles belong to our collective musical memory. With his debut album, Admiral Freebee delivered a wide-ranging Belpop classic, which is still as relevant today as it was in 2003.

Admiral Freebee first broke through in 2000. Back then, the band came close to winning Humo's Rock Rally twice: as runner-up to Mintzkov and as the rightful winner of the People's Choice Award. Frontman Tom Van Laere instantly stood out as a lively songwriter as a wholesome, possessed preacher. He surrounded himself with remarkable musicians such as Nathalie Delcroix (Laïs), Lars van Bambost (Noordkaap), Gert Bettens (K'S Choice) and Lazy Horse (Flip Kowlier). The subsequent debut album received rave reviews and remained on the Ultratop chart for no less than 70 (!) weeks.

At the sold-out Rewind concerts in AB (Brussels) in 2023, the joy of playing splashed off the stage. A series of additional concerts followed, but the audience and Admiral Freebee themselves were left wanting more. At De Roma, expect an amazing concert built around one of the most emblematic records in the history of Belgian rock.
