Altın Gün fascinates fans worldwide with their unique blend of psychedelic rock, deep funk, groovy pop and cosmic sounds, interwoven with the rich tradition of Anatolian and Turkish folk music. After previous successes with albums such as On, Gece, Yol and Aşk, the band is ushering in a new chapter in 2026 with the long-awaited album Garip.
With Garip, Altın Gün returns to the roots of 1970s Anatolian folk rock. The album is a tribute to the legendary composer Neşet Ertaş, with each song being a reinterpretation of traditional Turkish folk songs. The band deliberately opts for fewer synths and more live instrumentation, vintage equipment and spontaneous musical interaction. The result? A hypnotic sound full of space rock, prog-folk and danceable grooves that feels both nostalgic and innovative.
