Barbara Dex

Dex in 't groot

Over the past 30 years we have seen a multitalented Barbara Dex on stage. There are few musical styles that she has not tackled. On the De Roma stage, she also repeatedly showed what she was capable of.

After the tribute to her father in Dex tot de tweede macht, Barbara sings her own repertoire in the acoustic show In een notendop. In Thank God I'm a Country Girl, she performs covers and her own renditions of country music icons such as Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Tammy Wynette, among others.

Barbara is also part of the occasional band Vrouwen zingen Boudewijn de Groot with Els Dottermans and Andrea Croonenberghs. With Marcel de Groot and four musicians, she traveled through the repertoire of Boudewijn de Groot during the popular show Als de rook om je hoofd is verdwenen. Countless times, we have been able to admire her with a symphonic orchestra, a brass band or a regular band.

Now, Barbara can't wait to launch her new record. And not just one. With Dex in't groot, she presents an album full of Dutch classics, recorded with a symphony orchestra. She reinterprets old songs from Conny Vandenbos and Louis Neefs, but also classics from later generations.

Barbara Dex will perform live at De Roma and bring songs from the new album Dex in 't Groot and a selection from her 30-year career. For once she will be accompanied by a symphony orchestra conducted by Michel Bisceglia. Don't miss this unique and festive concert!
