The Blind Boys of Alabama are recognized worldwide as living legends of gospel music. With no less than six Grammy Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award and their induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, they have reached the absolute pinnacle of their impressive career that now spans over seventy years.
The Blind Boys of Alabama are renowned for their remarkable interpretations of traditional gospel songs, as well as their adaptations of songs by iconic songwriters such as Eric Clapton, Prince and Tom Waits. The list of artists with whom they have collaborated over the past decades is impressive. Lou Reed, Peter Gabriel, Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, Aaron Neville and Ben Harper, only to name a few.
Two years ago, the Alabama-born group released the highly acclaimed album Echoes Of The South. A bold album that traces their entire career in eleven impressive songs: from singing as buskers on the streets of the Deep South to performing for three different American presidents, accompanying the civil rights movement and their contribution to modern gospel music as we know it today.
After an impressive tour of Australia, capped by a breathtaking performance alongside Sir Tom Jones, the Blind Boys of Alabama are ready to conquer De Roma.
