For more than two decades, sisters Bianca and Sierra Casady have found a home in experimental pop music, influencing countless musicians and creating a haven for the ‘criminal queers’ of this world. The American duo began their career in 2003 with debut album La Maison de Mon Rêve, recorded in a Paris flat and re-released in 2024.
Since then, CocoRosie has released seven more albums and four EPs, each showing how they evolve as artists and continue to push musical boundaries. Their style can be described as a mix of hip-hop, electronica and folk combined with experimental sounds and poetic lyrics. They sing freely about themes such as gender, sexuality and feminism.
In 2025, we look forward to the release of a new album. ‘If no one in the world understands, at least I have you,’ they sing in the chorus of their first single Least I Have You. Coming from another artist, these words might sound sentimental, but CocoRosie has a unique gift for turning kitsch and clichés into new truths. Moreover, on their new record, the sisters tell a kaleidoscopic story of women's struggles across generations and the broken realities of their lives, the precarious nature of being human and the injustice of true love.
No new record without an extensive international tour, which also brings the sisters to De Roma for the first time this spring! CocoRosie have built a loyal fan base and are praised for their live performances, which are often theatrical and visually impressive.
