With eighteen albums, several world tours and prestigious awards to her name, Cristina Branco (b. 1972) is undoubtedly one of the greatest fado stars Portugal has ever produced. However, as a teenager she preferred listening to Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Joni Mitchell. Until her father gifted her an Amália Rodrigues album for her 18th birthday. Thanks to the great diva of fado music, she discovered that there was no better way than fado music to express her emotions.

A constant in Cristina Branco's career is her innovative approach to the fado genre. Her passion for jazz and pop music provides a playful approach, her sessions with young talented musicians a contemporary sound. However, her collaborations with the best lyricists and timeless poets always bring her back to the core of fado: the perfect marriage of voice, lyrics and music.

We are therefore delighted to welcome Cristina Branco to De Roma for the sixth time already. The singer will present her latest record Mãe, Portuguese for mother. Don't miss this ultimate love letter to the beautiful art of fado.
