Blistering Balkan beats, uplifting South American rhythms and jazzy improvisations... Brace yourself for a truly epic musical orgy, because the legendary Antwerp band Think Of One is back. After a thrilling reunion concert in early March 2024 at De Roma, David Bovée, Roel Poriau, and Tomas de Smet are teaming up again for a steamy sequel, because "the Antwerp shabi isn't finished yet." The concert at De Roma also serves as the release concert for their long-awaited new album, Helldriver.
Think Of One made its first appearance on the eve of the new millennium. Some top musicians meet in the back rooms of Antwerp pubs. Their goal: to jam together and have fun until dawn. Musically, they pull out all the stops and give free rein to their creativity. A new, worldly sound emerges, free of all the usual genres and styles. The band grew into a sextet and in 1997 Think Of One's first album hit the shelves: Juggernaut. In no time, the new Antwerp sensation set festivals and halls on fire. The joy of playing bursts from the stage and with their cosmopolitan blend of jazz, waltz, balkan, rumba and folk, infused with Arabic and South American influences, they launched a unique, exciting new sound out into the world.
After a break of almost fifteen years, it was a joyful reunion in 2024. The musical fire was immediately reignited. In their beloved De Roma, the Antwerp power trio now delve into the extensive Think Of One repertoire, featuring both reinterpretations of old material and songs from their long-awaited new album, Helldriver.
