Frankie Goes to Hollywood blew a new wind in the music world in the 1980s with debut single Relax, that not only became a hit worldwide, but also conquered the charts in the UK. The single went over 2 million copies and stayed in the charts for no less than 37 weeks. With second single Two Tribes, the band cemented its status as one of the most influential groups of the 1980s and Welcome to the Pleasuredome crowned itself one of the best-selling records of the eighties.
After the band broke up, Holly Johnson embarked on a successful solo career. His album Blast celebrates its 35th anniversary this year and spawned hits like Love Train, Americanos, Heavens Here and Atomic City.
