Isolde Lasoen
Isolde Lasoen
Drummer, singer, songwriter, frontwoman, band leader... few artists have the talent to be so versatile at such a high level while maintaining their own distinct signature. For more than 10 years, Isolde Lasoen has been the queen of a universe in which pop music takes on the allure of cinema and melancholy sparkles. With her third solo album, My Kind of Drama (released on 28/08), she adds a layer of glitter to a top-notch record that combines baroque pop, retro-futuristic synths and French touch.
After Isolde took her first steps as a solo artist with the EP L'Inconnu (2014) and debut album Cartes Postales (2017), her second album Oh Dear (2023) put her firmly on the musical world map. Fantastic singles such as Douce Mélancolie, Something French and Bed & Breakfast garnered airplay at home and abroad.
Where Oh Dear enriched her cinematic sound with influences from vintage soundtracks, psychedelia, French seventies and even prog rock, My Kind Of Drama moves further towards electronica and her love for French touch seeps through more emphatically: more synths, unexpected chord progressions and a modern, glossy production, while everything remains poppy, melancholic, cool and arty. Eclectic chic meets ciné-pop. An album on which Isolde unapologetically gives herself free rein to be dramatic, like a queen in her own musical universe.
