For singer Kaaiman, the Scheldt is like the Mississippi; according to him the lost souls of the Flemish Polders are not inferior to those of the American swamps for him. Kaaiman sings about ports and water, about life, love, hope, death and faith, with a voice that defies and conquers the seven seas. His voice is propelled by seemingly simple chords that burst from his acoustic guitar and resonate like a train from a bygone time and distant places.

Behind Kaaiman are De Oeverloze. Educated by life, they speak the same language, amplifying and expanding his words, soothing them where listening is needed. Using old recipes mixed with today's potions, they bring blues, cabaret and smartlap (sentimental songs) to life with their authentic arrangements.
