Originating from the punk movement, Les Négresses Vertes have become one of the most emblematic representatives of French music abroad.
Formed in Paris in 1987, the independent acoustic rock band is as indebted to French chanson as to Mediterranean music. Already with their first album Mlah (1988), they cross borders and gleefully mix rock, punk, jazz, balkan and so much more into a unique mix of their own. In 1989, they hit the UK charts with their remixes. This was followed by three albums: Famille Nombreuse (1991), Zigzague (1995) and Trabendo (1999).
The reunion of Les Négresses Vertes in 2018 is followed by an impressive tour of 350 concerts, which also brings the legendary band to De Roma in 2019. They will be back in 2026 with the European Zobi Tour, and a stop in Borgerhout once again cannot be missed. Don't miss this festive and unique live experience!
