Los Bitchos are a London-based instrumental band that effortlessly crosses musical boundaries. Their colourful and irresistible sound brings together influences from cumbia, surf rock, Turkish psychedelia, Latin American rhythms, disco and countless other traditions into a unique and adventurous mix. The result feels both familiar and surprising, as if a journey around the world were distilled into one exhilarating soundtrack. With their exuberant live performances, Los Bitchos have captivated audiences at clubs and festivals across the globe in recent years.
For their recent project Los Bitchos & Friends Vol. 1, the band opened the doors even wider. For the first time, they invited a range of guest musicians to add new colours to their instrumental universe. Los Bitchos view the human voice not so much as a vehicle for storytelling, but as another instrument within their rich sonic palette. The album features collaborations with Ambrose Kenny-Smith (King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard), Adrian Quesada (Black Pumas), Sinkane and Chicha Libre, among others. A special role is reserved for Kit Sebastian, who sings in Turkish on the track “El Pençe”, adding yet another layer to the band's psychedelic and culturally boundary-crossing world. The result is a joyful celebration of collaboration, where different backgrounds, traditions and musical languages come together.
