Marcus King, the famous singer, songwriter and guitarist, returns to Belgium! After his captivating tour in March 2023, he stops at De Roma again this fall, this time as part of his Mood Swings The World Tour. You won't want to miss Marcus King's show with his onstage charisma, unparalleled musical talent and soulful voice, combined with an exceptional group of musicians.
From the moment he was born, it was written in the stars that Marcus King would lead a musical life. He grew up as the son of blues musician Marvin King, and by the age of eight he was performing at his side on stage, along with his uncles and grandfather. He was still a teenager when he created his own band. The Marcus King Band was a group of long-haired young people who played soulful rock'n'roll. Together, they travelled thousands of kilometers with a fascinating and dynamic live show.
In 2019, Marcus announced a solo album. For this he joined forces with Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys. El Dorado was released in early 2020 and was very highly acclaimed by all critics. The album even received a GRAMMY® Award nomination for “Best Americana Album.” Marcus' fame grew and he was invited to play in the opening acts of various artists such as Chris Stapleton, Greta Van Fleet and Nathaniel Rateliff with his warm blues rock. In 2022, he appointed his successor. His music, which comes directly from the heart, speaks only of his own feelings. The result is Young Blood. A gem that was released in 2022, also directed by Dan Auerbach.
