Peter Hujar's Day
New York, 1974. As part of a project, the writer Linda Rosenkrantz asks her artist friends to describe, hour by hour, their last day. Today, it is the turn of the photographer Peter Hujar, a queer icon of the New York underground scene. In his New York flat, an intimate conversation unfolds about a perfectly ordinary day in Hujar’s life – a conversation that turns into an exploration of New York’s vibrant art scene in the 1970s, the famous photographer’s intellectual world, and the art of living itself.
