Thompson's rich career dates back to the 1960s, when, as a teenager, he founded the groundbreaking Fairport Convention with a few other musicians. That band immediately made its mark on British folk rock. After the break-up, he worked with his then-wife Linda for ten years, before going on to build an impressive solo career spanning more than thirty years.
Hits such as I Feel So Good, I Misunderstood, Dad's Gonna Kill Me and 1952 Vincent Black Lightning are etched in our collective musical memory.
