Pour les fans: DJ Krush, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Roots Manuva
Since the mid-90s, Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba have formed The Herbaliser. The duo grew up in London and found each other through their passion for jazz, weird groove and hip hop. In 1995, the two men released their first 12-inch The Real Killer under the now legendary British label Ninja Tune. The production duo never stopped innovating, knowing how to magnify samples recovered from the bottom of old record shop boxes as well as surround themselves with instrumentalists and vocalists from all backgrounds. Their recordings were sample-laden, full of early funk and acid-jazz grooves alongside early hip-hop beats. The release of their first album Remedies, mainly instrumental, was a great success, especially among triphop fans.
After a short break, The Herbaliser Band will return to tour across Europe in 2024 and will return to the stage with a line-up including the two founding members and five musicians: Easy Access AKA Ralph Lamb (trumpet/flugelhorn), Andrew Ross (tenor/baritone sax-flute), James Morton (alto sax), Micah Moody (drums) and Patrick Dawes (percussion).
