The Kids are 50 years old! They will celebrate this half-century of punk with a sledgehammer blow of an anniversary concert in their very own 'Bloody Belgium'.

Exactly five decades ago, front man and singer Ludo Mariman helped found a new genre of music. He considered punk as the ideal form of expression and built up an impressive oeuvre of five studio albums and one live album. At that time Mariman probably never imagined that later on he would share the stage with iconic bands like the Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks and New York Dolls. Especially with their 1978 debut album THE KIDS, the band left an indelible mark on punk history, both in Belgium and abroad.

Ten years after the split in 1986, The Kids reunited at the request of many fans. Since then, they remained active non-stop and also performed several times on stage at De Roma. Several international tours also followed, including in the United States, Mexico, Japan, Turkey and Western Europe. Live, The Kids' DNA still stands as a rock, or as Guy Mortier once nicely described it in Humo: "The Kids bring punk as it should be: fierce and fast, enthusiastic and nippy, and with fine compositions without pretension."
