We strike because we care
International Women*s Day
- i.c.w. Collecti.e.f 8 maars Antwerpen
On 8 March, women* all over the world will take to the streets for their rights under the slogan: when women stop, the world stops!
In Belgium too, there will be protests for a more equal distribution of care and housework and against the wage and pension gap. The Collecti.e.f 8 maars calls on women* to abandon domestic chores and to stop working, studying and consuming. They ask everyone committed to more equity and care in society to support these actions.
There will be a strike for better pay and social conditions in strongly feminised sectors such as cleaning, for quality and accessible services such as childcare, for an effective and preventive approach to violence against women and an improvement of the right to abortion.
And this in solidarity with women* and minorities worldwide, as well as peoples who suffer from genocide and war, like in Palestine, DR Congo and Sudan.
The Collecti.e.f 8 maars Antwerp will assemble at 14h at De Coninckplein, and march to De Roma, where there will be an information market of women's (rights) organisations and their allies from 15h30 to 18h30.
Children's animation will be provided and in the Foyer you can enjoy a drink and a snack.
All accompanied by music from DJ SAHЯA, full of feminist energy!
