After a month of sold-out shows at Koninklijk Theater Carré, Wende is finally coming to Belgium with her acclaimed show Vrijplaats. In the intimate setting of De Roma, the Dutch artist returns to the basics: two pianos, a voice and a song. In this way, Wende and pianist Nils Davidse create a unique atmosphere, challenging themselves to be maximally in the moment with minimal means.
The setlist of Vrijplaats changes every night and each show they invite a different guest artist: a well-known or emerging artist Wende admires. In the Netherlands, for instance, she shared the stage with Froukje, Merol, Maan and Pitou, among others. Who she will invite to De Roma remains a well-kept secret for now.
Wende began her career in 2003 and since then has created eight albums and six shows of her own created, with success both at home and abroad. In 2025, it will be her fifth time on stage at De Roma. Her four previous shows were invariably critically acclaimed.
In 2023, Wende reached a new peak in her career with the album Star Walk, which features collaborations with Froukje and S10. Last year she toured internationally with The Promise, played a second sold-out club tour of Sterrenlopen, released her EP Vrijplaats and closed the year with a series of sold-out shows in Carré. One thing is certain: Wende continues to surprise as one of the most versatile artists in the Netherlands.
