Trumpeter Bert Joris has been ranked among the absolute world's best for many years. The Belgian jazz musician has performed as a soloist on many international stages, with musicians and ensembles from all over the world. For instance, he worked with Joe Lovano, Mel Lewis, Jimmy Cobb, the Philip Catherine Quartet, Marc Moulin and the Michel Herr European Quintet.
Meanwhile, he also composes for major orchestras. Bert Joris is pretty much the resident composer of the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, with whom he performs regularly. He is known for his warm, lyrical tone and captivating melodies.
This autumn, Bert Joris will perform at De Roma with his own ensemble: the famous Bert Joris Quartet. On the piano: Dado Moroni, phenomenal jazz musician from Genoa who, for 45 years, has shared the stage with trumpet legends such as Clark Terry, Wynton Marsalis, Tom Harrell, and many other jazz greats. He is an absolute piano virtuoso, brimming with energy and enthusiasm. After years spent in the United States, Moroni is now back home in Italy.
With bassist Philippe Aerts and Dré Pallemaerts on drums, the musical picture is complete. Meanwhile, this quartet has been performing live for more than 30 years. Especially for this occasion, they will play a compilation of their greatest hits as well as new work. Highly recommended!
