With humour, self-mockery and razor-sharp lyrics, Elmer deliberately plays with expectations surrounding gender, sound and appearance, holding a magnifying glass to society’s norms. Her unapologetic performances feel like a long-awaited breath of fresh air in the Dutch-language music scene.
In the autumn of 2026, Elmer opened a new chapter with the album MAN, OH MAN, created in collaboration with producer Keenan Mundane, alongside a completely revamped live show that brings her to Antwerp in 2027. The album grows out of an artistically multifaceted and socially relevant theme: men. Rather than a manifesto full of statements, it is a personal exploration of masculinity in all its forms, contradictions and shortcomings. Across the new songs, criticism brushes up against affection, while aversion and recognition collide head-on. Elmer observes, names, laughs, and spares no one in the process, least of all herself. By exploring different perspectives, she approaches men with irony and criticism, but also with compassion. After all, who is there for them?
