Over the years, self-taught guitarist Jonas Meersmans has developed a personal language on his guitar. His latest album, Glassman, produced by Tim Vanhamel, was released in November 2024 on the Belgian jazz label Werf Records. On this album, acoustic fingerpicking landscapes are interwoven with strings, double bass and psychedelic soundscapes. The music was praised by the national press and broadcast on Radio Klara and Radio 1.
In previous years, he published a diptych of instrumental music for guitar, violin and brass. He has composed soundtracks for several theatres and short films. In 2020, he wrote the opening track for a compilation album on the American label Tompkins Square. Jonas is also a regular guitarist with Stef Kamil Carlens & The Swoon, the Nicolas Mortelmans Quartet and the Ellen Schoenaerts Quintet. In concert, he is joined in this trio by Michaël Lamiroy on violin and Gerben Brys on double bass.
