After his phenomenal, sold-out performances in 2016 and 2023, we are once again rolling out the red carpet for the British star pianist Jools Holland. Alongside his amazing His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, he will be joined on stage by the impressive guest singers Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall, and Sumudu Jayatilaka. Andrew Roachford, known for his eponymous band and as a member of Mike + The Mechanics, will also be part of the show.
Jools Holland is undoubtedly a musical genius. At the age of 8, he taught himself to play the piano, and at 16, he joined the band Squeeze. In 1980, he left the group for a successful solo career, which began with the EP Boogie Woogie. Shortly thereafter, he formed his first big band with his loyal drummer Gilson Lavis. Over the years, this band evolved into a 19-piece orchestra: a pianist, organist, drummer, three singers, a guitarist, a bassist, and an 11-piece brass ensemble. Just like Jools Holland himself, His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra is now a renowned name both nationally and internationally.
With his incredible musicality and endearing personality, Jools Holland is not only conquering stages the world over. Since 1992, he has also been the ever-energetic host of the BBC's Later with Jools Holland programme, in which the biggest names in the music world perform live, accompanied by Jools Holland himself at the piano. These numerous on-stage collaborations gave rise to the Jools and Friends series of albums. His acclaimed album, Pianola, was released in 2021. Piano & Friends, for which Holland has collaborated with Gregory Porter, Herbie Hancock, Tom Jones and Joe Bonamassa, among others.
