With It Was the Moment - her seventh studio album - Michelle Gurevich shows her most vulnerable and expressive side. Emerging from a period of bereavement and mental fragility, the album is a source of strength and comfort for anyone facing dark thoughts and going through a difficult period in their lives.

With her intense lyrics and dark themes, Michelle Gurevich has become the queen of melodramatic songwriting over the last two decades. The themes she tackles on her latest album are also not to be sneezed at: the loss of her mother and her home, the end of days, the loss of reason, the ephemeral nature of human interactions and encounters... But Gurevich wouldn't be the genius singer-songwriter she is, if she didn't pepper her Lynchian songs with humour and a strong wink. This gives her fatalistic music a festive touch.

With sold-out concerts in Istanbul, Berlin, Warsaw and Athens, Gurevich is following in the footsteps of such legends as Charles Aznavour, Zeki Müren and Nikolai Slichenko. On stage, the Canadian artist is surrounded by eccentric musicians. In doing so, she remains first and foremost herself: an intriguing singer-songwriter who produces and publishes her own music in an ongoing search for the intimacy of life.
