What if you asked the people around you: when have you felt most ‘human’?
What if, time and again, the answer has to do with feeling connected to others? What if this is invariably followed by a realisation of just how much we miss those moments of connection?
This is what Mens me. aims to address. Not getting bogged down in philosophising, but taking action.
Come together, pull up a chair, sit down, and let’s celebrate our humanity together.
The Mens me. podcast starts with the question: ‘What, for you, is the essence of our humanity?’ There is no single answer to this. It is the multitude of answers that comes closest to the truth. And so we dream of a space where all those individual answers and stories can exist side by side.
Both on the online platform and at the live events, Mens me. seeks communication that is not about defining or proving. A way to recognise stories as our own experiences. A way to hear and celebrate those personal experiences.
During the live event, we’ll start with an introductory discussion featuring psychologist Dominique Mertens, theatre maker Nyira Hens and Mens me. host Ebe Meynckens.
Afterwards, there is a brunch and then we’ll split into smaller groups.
In conversation with one another, we’ll share the moments when we’ve felt most human. So that we can cherish those moments collectively. So that we might create those moments of connection a little more often.
The brunch is included in the ticket price.
